UAlbany started the America East schedule with an 0-3 record last season and made it all the way to the conference championship game, so why is it such a big deal that the Danes are off to a similar start this season? That America East title game, which UAlbany lost to Vermont, was played in Burlington, not SEFCU Arena, because the Catamounts had a better regular season record in the conference. At 0-2, too many more losses, say more than 4 total, would very likely make UAlbany take the long road to an NCAA Tournament berth.

Next up for the Great Danes is rival Stony Brook. The Seawolves are 2-0, but just the hair on their chinny chin chin and UAlbany head coach Will Brown says his team needs to approach this game with a strong sense of urgency, bordering on calling it a must-win.
