USA Today: This Upstate New York City Boasts Country’s Best Food Festival
The USA Today Readers' Choice Poll has been very kind to Upstate New York in 2023.
Earlier this year, we learned that Corning, New York's town square was named one of the best in the country. We also found out that Rhinebeck, New York was tabbed as the second-best small town for shopping in the country, and that Bolton Landing, NY’s famed Sagamore Resort, was considered one of the best resorts in America.
Today, another Upstate New York staple was recognized as the best of its kind by the readers of USA Today. This time around, something delicious took home first place.
Upstate NY's 'Taste of Buffalo' Festival Named Best Food Festival in America
Results from a USA Today Readers' Choice poll named an Upstate New York city's annual food festival as the best of its kind in the entire country. At the top of the list of the 10 best city food festivals across the nation was the Taste of Buffalo festival, as voted upon by USA Today's readers.
A story from New York Upstate shared the news late last week. Check out this post from their official Instagram news, announcing the victory:
USA Today cites regional specialties, from beef on weck to sponge candy to Buffalo wings, as a main reason why Buffalo's food festival should be ranked above the rest. As stated on the official Taste of Buffalo website, the Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is the largest two-day food festival in the United States. It began in 1984 with 22 restaurants on Main St and now we are celebrating our 40th year in 2023.
This is just my opinion, but there are few ways better to celebrate a momentous anniversary like that, than with recognition as the best food festival in the United States.
Here are the other food festivals that were ranked with Taste of Buffalo among the top-ten:
- Taste of Buffalo - Buffalo, NY
- Queens Night Market - Queens, NY
- World Food Championships, Dallas, TX
- Taste of Vail - Vail, CO
- Flavors on the Avenue Street Fest - Philadelphia, PA
- World Food & Music Festival - Des Moines, IA
- Europhia - Greenville, SC
- International Taste Festival - Syracuse, NY
- Bay Bites Food Truck Festival - Mobile, AL
- Taste of Colorado - Denver, CO
Between Taste of Buffalo, the Queens Night Market, and the International Taste Festival, it's fair to say that New Yorkers have a lot of great eats to look forward to every year. It all started this past weekend, as Syracuse opened up their International Taste Festival for the second time ever!
Sources say attendees are still very, very full.
