The Tri-City ValleyCats threw a one-hitter on Sunday in beating the Lowell Spinners. With the win, the 'Cats head into the New York-Penn League all-star break at 30-25 and in first place in the Stedler Division.

The 'Cats lead the Stedler Division by 0.5 games over the Spinners. They are 3.0 games up on the Connecticut Tigers and 5.0 up on the Vermont Lake Monsters.

While we have just hit the all-star break, we are well past the halfway point of the season. The 'Cats have just 21 games left on the year.

Leading the way thus far at the plate for Tri-City is all-star selection Bobby Wernes. He's hitting .325 through 35 games. Wernes joins Pat Porter, Dexture McCall and pitcher Alex Winkelman as NY-PL all-star selections.

The ValleyCats will resume play on Wednesday when they travel to Vermont for a two-game set with the Lake Monsters. They return home on Friday against the Hudson Valley Renegades. It's Bernie Williams bobblehead night.
