Want to Get Up Close to Professional Wrestling? HOF Exhibit Coming to Albany
Saturday night, the International Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame held it's first ever induction ceremony at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. Honorees included Ric Flair, Mil Mascaras, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and many more. In addition to the awards and festivities it was announced that, in the near future, the IPWHF will have an exhibit of professional wrestling artifacts on display at the Times Union Center in Albany.
According to News 10 ABC, the debut of the exhibit in the Times Union Center is to be determined, but it will feature their bronze plaques as well as various wrestling artifacts and memorabilia.
There is something special about professional wrestling. Once it gets a hold of you, the fondness you have stays with you. When I was a teenager I remember the World Wrestling Federation coming to my high school for an event featuring Hulk Hogan, S.D. Jones, the Moon Dogs and a full card of professional wrestling action.
Years later my son and I shared many Friday nights wrestling in the living room while watching our favorite Superstars battle it out in the squared circle. We also attended several live events and my son was fortunate enough to meet Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Gold Dust and a few others along the way.
I for one am looking forward to the exhibit. Professional wrestling is a community and a brotherhood. A place for like-minded fathers and sons, brothers and sisters and all walks of life to bond over the entertainment and storylines of wrestling. I look forward to see what stories the artifacts tell.
