A Front Lineworker named Sandra Lindsay is the first person in the state of New York to receive the Phizer COVID-19 vaccine. Just before 10 am EST today Governor Andrew Cuomo introduced Lindsay, a critical care nurse moments before she received what will be the first of many vaccinations for the COVID-19 virus in New York state.

Governor Cuomo said, "The vaccine can't work in the vile" as a nod to those saying they refuse to be vaccinated. The governor went on to say "I believe this is the weapon that will end the war. This is the beginning of the last chapter of the book." Only time will tell how quickly the vaccine will be administered and just how effective it will truly be but to have a vaccine in 10 months is unheard of and could be a very big step towards normalcy.

In the world of sports, the vaccine beginning to roll out in mid-December adds serious weight to Dr Fauci's message that we could be packing NFL stadiums by September of 2021. Speaking purely as an optimist this is great news for Major League Baseball and the National Football League.
