Now that states are open to legislate their own gambling rules and laws the major sports entities are looking for ways to make cash. MLB has spoke before the New York legislature, NFL and NHL have teams in Las Vegas and the NBA has found the first way to profit. ESPN Sportscenter Anchor and "Behind the Bets" podcast host Doug Kezirian helps us make sense of the new merger.

The NBA and WNBA have signed a merger with the MGM which will make them $25 million and give the MGM legitimacy. This is only the first of what I expect will be many deals where sports leagues will find ways to profit on the brave new world of legal gambling. Sadly for us here in New York the wheels of change will turn slowly as usual as the New York State legislature is on break and we still have no ruling on gambling.
