What Should We Make Of This Hot Start By The New York Yankees?

The New York Yankees are off to a great start as they currently sit 10-3 overall thru their first 13 games.  Now they did just win a series against a pathetic Miami Marlins team but still it is an impressive start.  The starting pitching looks very solid without Gerrit Cole and the bullpen has been rock solid too with numerous guys stepping up.  The offense has also been clicking and firing on all cylinders and that is even despite Aaron Judge struggling at the plate too.  However, it is still way too early in the season and injuries and everything else can still occur.

New signing Juan Soto looks terrific and provides a major spark in an offense that struggled last season in 2023 to say the least.  But one guys in particular who has stepped up tremendously at the plate is Anthony Volpe.  He did not have a good rookie season at the plate but he did win a gold glove.  As of Wednesday he is near the top of the entire league in batting average and is a problem with his speed when he is on base.  I'm glad to see his overall improvement and hope he keeps it up throughout the season.

The AL East will be competitive as ever so the Yankees will have to be at their very best if they want to win the division.  The Pinstripes have not made it to a World Series since 2009 so going on 15 seasons which is unacceptable in most if not all Yankee fans minds.  We'll see what 2024 brings for the Bronx Bombers.
