Wizards Announcer Messes Up Final Call [VIDEO]

File this under, “Oops.”  Washington Wizards play-by-play announcer Steve Buckhantz mistakes an airball at the buzzer for a game-winning bucket.

This is one of my personal favorite play-by-play calls of all time.  Washington Wizards announcer Steve Buckhantz thought that Trevor Ariza had drained a 3-pointer to give the Wizards a 98-96 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.  Buckhantz yelled, “Dagger!!!”  Only one problem; the shot didn’t go in.

Trevor Ariza actually shot an airball.  It was obviously an embarrassing moment for Buckhantz who royally screwed up the final call.  However, Buckhantz did a pretty good job laughing it off and minimizing the damage.  The Wizards ended up losing to the Pistons 96-95.
