More embarrassing last night than the Yankees season ending at the hands of the up-start Astros was the way the Yankee fans acted.

The Yankee "faithful" booed the team -- and Brett Gardner -- late in the game on Tuesday night, a game the Yanks lost 3-0.

Gardner was 0-4 with three strikeouts, but he's one of the staples of the franchise. He plays hard, he plays hurt, he steals bases, he's homegrown. Isn't that what the Yankee fans want? Isn't that the antithesis to the "We only buy home run hitters argument?"

I've never met a group of people who defend their team and their honor more than Yankee fans. Look at Levack...

But for the fans to turn on the team last night was embarrassing. The Yankees were lucky to even be there. A team with no pitching depth, bullpen questions going into the season, and an aging lineup -- not to mention the A-Rod circus... I thought they were going nowhere.

Appreciate the summer of meaningful baseball that you had.
