Prosecutors will not be filing criminal charges against New York Yankees' newly acquired pitcher Aroldis Chapman, who was accused of firing shots in his Davie home during a domestic dispute with his girlfriend last Oct. 30.

"We are all pleased that the Davie Police Department and the Office of the State Attorney took the time to fully investigate the matter and have concluded that charges were not warranted," said Chapman's lawyer, Paul Molle.

Chapman, was on the Cincinnati Reds since 2009, then was traded to the Yankees in December. He was originally supposed to be traded to the Dodgers until news about the alleged domestic violence incident became public.

The Yankees sent four minor leaguers to the Reds last month for Chapman, and now have arguably the best bullpen in baseball history. There is no news if the MLB will still suspend Chapman.
