Yankees Beat Phillies In First Spring Training Game, 8-5

Baseball is back, and the New York Yankees aren't looking so bad.  Sure, it's just spring training, but the over all performance of the team looked very promising.

The Yankees were able to spoil Jonathan Papelbon's spring training debut for the Philadelphia Philles with an 8-5 win Saturday afternoon in sunny Florida.  Hopefully it's an omen of the good things to come this season.

Curtis Granderson looked like he didn't miss a beat during the off season.  he was 2-2 with 2 RBI's.  Ivan Nova gave up two runs early, but the Yankee pitching staff was able to hold them to those 2 runs until the ninth inning when the Phillies put up three runs, but it wasn't enough.

Yanks will face the Phillies on Sunday afternoon at George M. Steinbrenner field.
