There's no question that the New York Yankees were a little long in the tooth at the outfield position last season. Today the Yankees and Minnesota Twins have made a trade that will send outfielder Aaron Hicks to New York in exchange for backup catcher John Ryan Murphy.

There's no question this will fuel the trade rumors  that have been swirling around Brett Gardner this week.

Murphy, served as Brian McCann's backup in New York this past season hit .267/.311/.374 He will now most likely serve as a backup to Kurt Suzuki in Minnesota. The 26-year old Hicks, has been seen as a top prospect for the Twins. He can play all three outfield positions , but is primarily considered a centerfielder due to his strong defensive abilities.
