ESPN MLB analyst Buster Olney weighed in on the future of New York Mets' superstar slugger Pete Alonso.

Former Bethlehem High School standout, Matt Quatraro may be the next manager for the New York Mets. Quatraro is currently the bench coach for the Tampa Bay Rays. The Mets have been looking for a manager since they fired Luis Rojas after the team's disappointing season.

"The most boring player I've ever interacted with, was Derek Jeter. And I told him that." Very few people can say that and mean it, and Buster Olney is one of them.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman is wheeling and dealing like his job depends on it. Maybe it does and the same goes for his manager. Though both will be quickly employed if let go, it is not the same as being at the head of the New York Yankees organization. Early Thursday evening, Cashman added a power hitting first baseman, with four Gold Gloves and a World Series ring to his line-up.

The baseball fans that still watch the All Star Game want to see the game's best players. That's it in a nutshell. Jacob deGrom, Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa are some of the games biggest stars. Jacob deGrom is among the top 2 or 3 very best. If it's not important to those players, why should it be important to the fans?

The New York Yankees are off to a TERRIBLE start to the season. I mean it's so bad that I actually asked ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney if he'd rather talk about the Knicks instead of the Yankees today. He chose to stick with the Yankees and seemingly took joy in tormenting me along with help from Red Sox fan and cohost Dan Bahl. Is there hope for a turnaround any time soon? This week not only did Buster provide great insight into the MLB but he also attempted to decipher Yankees manager Aaron Boone and previews an amazing interview with Freddie Freeman that'll air this Sunday.

To say that the Shen graduate Ian Anderson was making the Capital Region proud would be a huge understatement. Anderson has now pitched in three postseason games for the Atlanta Braves and has yet to give up a single run to the Cincinnati Reds, Miami Marlins, or Los Angeles Dodgers. The MLB season is set to begin in July with players reporting to their home stadiums on or before July 1st.
