Former Siena Star to Represent Country
Former Siena Saints basketball star Alex Franklin has been named to the Puerto Rican National Team for the upcoming World Cup of Basketball in Spain (Aug. 30), Franklin tweeted out.
Franklin spent four years in a Saints uniform, becoming part of one of the best units in Siena history. He was part of the Saints' NCAA tournament teams in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
He made 98 starts for Siena over his career, averaging 13.3 points per game and 7.1 rebounds.
He averaged a double-double in the 2009 NCAA tournament and had 10 points and 13 rebounds in the Saints win over Ohio State in that '09 tournament.
