On a night where the capital region was watching Duke dismantle Louisville 82-56 for their 4th straight victory, there was another reason for Capital Region fans to pay attention to the Wednesday night game. Glens Falls native and New York State's all-time leading scorer Joseph Girard III announced on Twitter hours before tip that he has been offered a scholarship to play for Coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke Blue Devils.

Girard was on an unofficial visit to Duke on Wednesday night and sat behind the Duke bench throughout the game. He has been offered scholarships from local schools such as the University at Albany and Siena, but the power five schools have come flooding in lately and have been capped off by the offer from Duke.

Haven't watched Girard play yet? Glens Falls will take on Schuylerville Friday night at HVCC at 8pm in the Class B sectional semifinal.
