Hey USA Soccer: Waldo called (from an undisclosed location), he wants his tee-shirt back.

Today Nike released their new designs for Team USA soccer, a design that will be virtually the same for both the Men’s and Women’s team. The jerseys, pictured above, are relatively simplistic white Tee’s with bold horizontal reds lines stretching across them. According to Nike, “the shirt also features a tonal sash to echo the same design on the shirts worn by the US Men’s National Team when they famously defeated England in the 1950 Finals in Brazil.” The jersey tops will be accompanied by blue shorts and white socks that have a blue stripe running across the top.

The jerseys are largely made from recycled materials, with each jersey taking 13 bottles to create. Unfortunately for US soccer fans, it will be a while until you see the Men’s team wearing their new garb in a meaningful game as they were eliminated from the Loudon Olympic Games last month.
