Three Section II champions were crowned in girls lacrosse on Wednesday and the girls continued to take center stage with a full slate of softball games on the schedule.

In the Class A final, Shaker topped Guilderland 8-7 after scoring five goals in the second half. Julia Lennon scored four goals for the Bison while Julia Maloney had 12 saves.

Burnt Hills beat Niskayuna in Class B thriller. The Spartans needed three overtimes to top the Silver Warriors, 9-8. Nicole Beardsley and Nakona Wolfe each had two goals in the win while Alissa Franze had four in the loss.

Albany Academy for Girls topped Emma Willard by a score of 15-3 in Class C for their seventh consecutive Section II title. Senior Emily Martin had six goals.
