The good words will flow in for 1 of the best catchers to ever put on the gear, Gary Carter, and rightfully so. The hall of Fame backstop sadly lost his battle with Brain tumors and passed away today at the oh so young age of 57. Carter's numbers speak for themself...

I am partly outraged and part thrilled on the latest NFL hall of fame vote. Lets start with the good stuff. All hail Curtis Martin, arguably the greatest Jet of all time. Matin leads a  group of  6 inducted into the NFL HOF. Martin retired  after 11 years in the league as the 4th leading rusher of all time and still resides in that 4th spot...

This year’s class of Hall of Fame inductees was announced on Monday, and just one man, Barry Larkin, made the cut. The former Cincinnati Reds shortstop will be enshrined this summer and heralded among the all-time greats. But with the news a new member of the hall has been added comes a spirited debate about who didn’t make the cut.

The 2012 Hall of Fame Ballot is out and unlike last year, we aren't seeing that many newcomers.  In fact their are only 13 and only one that has voters excited would be former Yankee great Bernie Williams.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame welcomed seven new members Saturday night, headlined by players Deion Sanders, Shannon Sharpe, Marshall Faulk, and Richard Dent. Chris Hanburger, Les Richter, and Ed Sabol were also enshrined. “What separates us is that we expect to be great,” Sanders said. “I expect to be great, I expect to do what had to be done. I expect to make change.”

So I was checking out NFL.com's Top 100 Greatest Players of All-Time and there's was one name on there that made me laugh. Joe Namath.  That's right, "Broadway Joe" was the 100th greatest NFL player of All-time. That's laughable.

It's a debate that baseball fans have been having over the past few years - is former Yankees centerfielder Bernie Williams a Hall of Famer? The answer is quite simple - no!

Love him or hate him, George Steinbrenner was a baseball icon.  Therefore, I firmly believe the late New York Yankees owner belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame. To me, this is a slam dunk decision.
