Nothing in sports is better than bad blood, and few franchises despise each other like the New Jersey Devils and the New York Rangers. If you don’t believe me, check out this video from last night’s game, where a six-player brawl broke out following the first drop of the puck.

It hasn't been pretty for the New York Rangers in recent weeks, but they were able to hold on and clinch the first playoff spot in the East.

Check out this video of a fan breaking glass with his bare hands at a hockey game.  He breaks the glass with his palms for cryin' out loud.

This weeks photo caption contest showed us a very interesting side of hockey.  Facebook fan Catherine Spann takes the honors this week with her caption, 'Is that your hockey stick, or are you just happy to see me?'

Mike Layman connected on two goals and an assist and Nick Winters had two goals to lead Saratoga Springs past Shenendehowa, 5-1, to win the Section II Hockey Division I championship Thursday night at Messa Rink (Union College).

Jaromir Jagr has had quite the career in the NHL.  16 years after scoring the winning goal against Winnipeg in overtime, he does it again and sets a new NHL record.

The Capital District High School Hockey League championship games are scheduled for Thursday.  In Division I, Shenenedehowa takes on Saratoga Springs at Union College, 7 p.m. while Division II features Glens Falls and Queensbury at the Glens Falls Civic Center, 4:30 p.m.

Near the end of the Chicago Blackhawks’ 6-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday, Derek Dorsett of Columbus, a rather smallish NHL player, decided to charge and fight Blackhawk tough guy John Scott, one of the biggest guys in the league.

The Rangers were able to extend their first place lead over Philly last night with a 5-2 win.  Three of those goals were scored by Ryan Callahan.

The New York Rangers are taking the NHL by storm this season.  Owner of the team James Dolan is very impressed by his 'Blueshirts' and is very confident that they are poised to win the Stanley Cup.

The New York Rangers won their fifth straight game thanks to a big shootout goal by Marian Gaborik to keep them alive and the winning goal by Derek Stepon.  They beat the Phoenix Coyotes 2-1.

According to the Times Union, the Union College Men's hockey team will play their January 13th game against Harvard from Boston's Fenway Park.
