Mets Management Hits New Low

Somehow, it has gone from really bad, to even worse for Mets Nation. According to reports, the Mets are cutting ties with their Rookie-level affiliate in Kingsport, Tennessee. The Mets don’t appear to have any plans to join forces with another club; by all accounts they will be completely removed from the league.

The Mets had something interesting happen last night, and it wasn’t the rare event of a win. They had a fan run out on the field in the middle of the game and outrun security for a good amount of time.

Yankees Win First Game of Subway Series

Yankees defeated the Mets 5-1 on Friday evening at Citi Field in Queens, NY. The Yankees got a decent outing from Ivan Nova and were able to go with the pitches thrown by Jon Niese. Before some fans could even take their seats the Yankees had a 3-0 early lead and never looked back.

Sports Transcending Sports: 9/11 and More

I watched the President's speech Sunday night.  I watched with a smile as Americans flooded the streets and celebrated the day.  But at the same time I realized that this day served as a reminder, a vivid representation of a time nearly ten years ago, when one September morning the name of Osama bin Laden was thrust into the minds of all Americans.  And I thought about how in the days that followed, sports became bigger than sports and how this happens so often.
