With each passing day the playoffs becomes more a dream then a reality for the Albany Devils. A devastating 5-3 loss in Binghamton Friday night adds to their latest misery.

With Jeff Frazee in the net the Devils fell behind 2-0 early in the 2nd period. Goals by the Senators Cole Schneider and David Dziurzynski.

Albany caught up and tied the game in the 2nd period on tally's by Steve Zalewski and  Chris McKelvie. McKelvie's was a shorthanded goal and knotted the game at 2.

However that lift didn't last long as Binghamton scored with just over 3 minutes left in the middle period. The go ahead score was by Binghamton's  Mark Stone.

The Senators put the game on ice so to speak with 2 more goals in less then 2 minutes midway through the 2nd period. Schneider scored his 2nd of the game that made it 4-2. Moments later Corey Cowick made it 5-2 and game over!

For Frazee it was a tough night. The entire Devils franchise has had tough nights lately. The NHL's Devils have lost 9 straight and almost fallen out of a playoff spot. Same can be said for the Albany Devils.

1 note worth a "atta boy" for Albany. Matt Anderson of Albany set a new franchise record with his career franchise leading 83rd assist, this coming in the 3rd period on the final goal of the game, scored by Eric Gelinas. That would be the only good moment on an otherwise dismal night in Binghamton.

The Devils have 5 games left, all at home, starting with a 5 P.M. faceoff Saturday night at the Times Union center against Binghamton again. It will be military appreciation day as all members past and present will be allowed into the game for no charge.
