Albany Area Basketball Teams Get Ready for State Tournaments

If you want to see some top-notch basketball then travel to Hudson Valley Community College and Glens Falls Civic Center for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Tournaments this weekend.

Six Section II teams will try to advance in the statewide event.

In boys competition, CBA (21-2) will meet top-ranked Mt. Vernon (21-2) of Section I in a Class AA game on Saturday at GFCC, 2:15 p.m.

Watervliet (22-1) goes against Burke Catholic (19-3, Section IX) in Class B play at GFCC, Friday at 8:30 p.m.

The Class C bracket shows Mechanicville (19-5) facing Tuckahoe (22-0, Section I) on Friday, at GFCC, 5 p.m. Tuckahoe is the top C school in the state.

In girls action, Averill Park (17-5) battles Pearl Harbor (20-2, Section I) on Friday at HVCC, 3:15 p.m.

Hoosic Valley (22-1) takes on Coleman Catholic (22-0, Section IX) on Saturday at HVCC, 2:15 p.m.

Argyle (21-3) and Livingston Manor 13-7, (Section IX) play Saturday at HVCC, at 10:45 a.m.
