As all of you know, there is nothing that I love to do more than cover local sports.  On Tuesday night I had an awesome road trip to cover some boys and girls high school basketball.  The gym was packed and the community was so bought in for both teams.  It is always an amazing sight that gives me so much joy.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

Berne-Knox-Westerlo boys' basketball team completed an undefeated 20-0 regular season on Tuesday when they won the WAC conference championship with a win over Duanesburg. Undefeated seasons are rare in any sport and BKW the number one ranked Class C team in the State were able to accomplish an incredible feat. Let's see how far they can go in the postseason. They will be favored to win the Section II Championship but it's possible they would need to beat Duanesburg for a third time this season to reach the top. Nobody can sleep on Spa Catholic because they are a very dangerous team entering the Class C playoffs.

Now the brackets and seedings are coming out on both the boys and girls side for the brackets.  It is the best time of year for local high school basketball.  They should call it February Madness even though it ends up finishing in March.  There are so many good teams in all of the classes that will make it that much more compelling this year.  Let the local high school basketball madness begin.
