After winning their 3 pre-season games the Albany devils came into the season feeling good. That feeling has given way to an 0-2 start after a 3-2 loss to Syracuse Crunch  Friday night.

The devils won the 1st period, leading 2-1 going into the locker room. Goals by Mike Hoeffel and Mattias Tedenby offset Syracuse's lone tally by of the stanza.

However after that 1st period Crunch Goalie Dustin Tokarski got stingy and the devils got nothing. Head coach Rick Kowalsky had no complaints on his clubs effort, just their luck " It would have been nice to catch some breaks tonight, it wasn't for lack of effort, but at times we have to be hungry and find a way to put in some of those ugly goals."

Albany had their chances, especially in the 3rd. For the game they out shot Syracuse 27-23. However in the 3rd that's when Tokarski did some of his finest work.

Phil DeSimone of the Devils had a marvelous chance that Tokarski stoned with 3.20 left.

The Devils surrendered 2 power play goals. With the man advantage however they came up empty going 0-5.

A crowd of 2,579 took in the contest. The Devils will look to secure their 1st win of the season when they travel for the 1st time this year and head to Worcester for a Saturday night match.
