The Connecticut Whale came to Albany winless. The home town Devils came into the game Wednesday night without a win at home. Now only the Devs skid remains. The Whale beached the Devils 5-2, scoring all 5 goals in the 2nd and 3rd periods.

The devils jumped ahead late in the 1st stanza getting a goal at 17:44 by Mike Hoeffel staked hot goalie Keith Kinkaid to a lead after 20 minutes. The fun for the home fans ended right there.

Kinkaid, coming off a shutout in Worcester Saturday night, the last night the Devils played ran his scoreless string to over 133 minutes. That ended when he allowed a softy to get past him by the Whale's Brandon Segal at 8:56 of period 2. Segal lost control of the puck but Kinkaid, coming out to stop Segal and on his back allowed the puck to slide by him and into the net. Possibly rattled the Whale struck quickly after that. J.T. Miller scored 1.01 after that tally and the Whale added another goal before the period ended to snare a 3-1 lead after 2.

Connecticut, the top farm club for the Rangers added goals in the 3rd by Yogan and Jean to make it 5-1 and game! Jacob Josefson made th score look a little better with his 3rd of the season to close out the scoring at 5-2.

The Devils are now winless on home Times Union ice having lost their 1st 3 matches at the TU Center on the young season. Just over 2,500 fans showed up for the contest.
