The Albany Empire have started this season 2 - 0 with a chance to take sole possession of first place in the Arena Football League when they play the Philadelphia Soul this Saturday. Some people think the Empire's winning started before the season even began when they found out reigning Arena League Rookie of the Year Wide Receiver Malachi Jones would be rejoining the team.

Jones was previously the star receiver for the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football League. when the AAFL folded it freed Jones up to return to the Empire and help Albany bring home the Arena League championship.
