The savior is back!  The guy who still gets the free pass for all of those steroid injections and lies and tabloid nonsense is back.  Aren't you thrilled, Yankee fans?  A-Rod has been cleared to resume baseball activities and is headed to the Yanks' complex in sunny Tampa.  Baseball activities have never really been explained, but we think he will run and catch and hit off of a tee and probably do some lateral running as long as his body doesn't fall apart.

Expect A-Rod to join the Yanks in two or three weeks and play plenty of designated hitter to get started.  How much will he help New York?  Not much.  Certainly the Yankees haven't needed his power, the small part of A-Rod's game left.  New York leads the American League in home runs and is tied for the Major League's best mark.  Rodriguez doesn't have much speed left and his bat speed is limited.  Pitchers don't fear him either.  The Yankees will play him because of the contract and that is sad.  Hopefully for the Yankees' sake, he doesn't hurt what the team has going.
