Sox Legend Mocks New York Yankees’ Duo with Haunting 2004 Reminder [WATCH]

It's been nearly 20 years since the Boston Red Sox completed their miraculous comeback against the New York Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series, en route to their first World Series title in 86 years.

That said, the memory of the Yankees' historic collapse still haunts fans and players alike, and Red Sox legend David Ortiz took the opportunity to remind everyone of that fateful series on national television Monday night.

Red Sox Legend Jokes with NY Yankees' Duo About 2004 ALCS Disappointment

A video was posted to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, from the official MLB on Fox account on Monday evening, showing a conversation between MLB legends David Ortiz, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez.

In the clip, Jeter is in the middle of making a point about teams coming back from deficits during the playoffs, and references his own personal experience dealing with comebacks in the MLB postseason.

The experience he's talking about happened in 2004, against David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox, prompting Ortiz to say this:

This isn't the first time that the Fox crew has poked fun at Jeter and the Yankees. Check out this clip, which references an upcoming documentary produced by Fox Sports Films that was based on the 2004 comeback made by Ortiz and the Sox:

That said, since Jeter was added to the Fox studio crew, it seems as though they've gone out of their way to poke fun at him a bit more than anyone else:

For the 2023 season, neither Jeter and A-Rod nor Ortiz will get the last laugh, as both of their alma maters were eliminated from playoff contention a long time ago.
