The honors keep coming for Shen baseball star and MLB Draft hopeful Ian Anderson.

Much like NIskayuna star Garrett Whitley a year ago, Anderson has been invited to the draft in New Jersey. The first round begins on June 9th.

Anderson just made his second start of the season last weekend for the Plainsmen, taking a loss against Class A Queensbury. The Spartans are the top-ranked team in Class A and are undefeated this season.

Anderson has registered as high as 96 on the radar gun this season and helped Team USA win an 18-U Gold Medal in Japan last summer.

He's among the top high school arms in the country and has been projected to go between picks No. 11 and picks No. 18 in mock drafts that I have seen.

The question will lie with whether or not Anderson will head to the professional ranks or attend college at Vanderbilt, one of the top programs in the entire country.
