Will Ian Anderson Start For The Atlanta Braves This Season?
It is such great news hearing that Ian Anderson might be on the Atlanta Braves starting rotation come opening day next week. Ian has been out of baseball for a while and grinding thru the minor leagues. He is a true journeyman and people might forget how good he was when he was healthy and was even a World Series Champion. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
Shenendehowa grad Ian Anderson barring a last-minute snag should be back in the Atlanta Braves starting rotation when the season begins in less than 2 weeks. It's been a long haul back for the 2016 first round pick after undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2023. Anderson who was a big part of the Braves World Series Title in 2020-21 when he posted a 1.26 ERA in 8 postseason starts rejoins a team that will be right in the hunt to win the National League East along with the Mets and Phillies. Anderson needs to survive three more Spring training starts and his goal of getting back in the starting rotation will be accomplished.

The Braves open up Thursday on the road at the San Diego Padres and hopefully Anderson gets a start next weekend. Just another great local story of yet another phenomenal Section II athlete from Shenendehowa High School. The hard work and the patience pays off and as long as Ian limits his walks, than he will be just fine. I can wait to root him on all season long.
