Mitchell, who made the team out of camp and figured to be a key piece to the bullpen (or as a spot starter/fill-in), will be sidelined for at least four months with that broken toe. That means he won't be seen until August at the earliest.

Brian McCann had said earlier in the offseason how impressed he was with Mitchell and Mitchell had certainly looked the part. He went 2-0 this spring in 15.2 innings of work. He only allowed seven hits and one earned run. He held opponents to a .132 batting average against.
