Busted! Upstate NY Man Caught with Poorly Drawn Inspection Sticker
File this one under "crime, but with a touch of creativity".
An Upstate New York man was arrested earlier this week for his creative solution to not having an inspection sticker on his car. It's a new form of artistry, one that we're fortunate enough to witness a few times every year.
Unfortunately, the sticky-note sticker was unsuccessful this time around.

Johnstown Man Arrested for Drawing His Inspection Sticker
As reported by The Times Union earlier this week, a 30-year old Johnstown, New York man was arrested by state police for forging an inspection sticker for his car.
Based on the photo of the drawing, it appears as though the arrested party took a Post-It Note, and a marker, and created his best interpretation of what an inspection sticker would look like for 2023.
Instead of displaying the skills of a young Van Gogh, it turned out looking like this:
The arrest happened just after 3AM on Tuesday, and the arrested party is facing a felony charge of criminal possession of a forged instrument. His trial has yet to happen, as he was given a court date and released.
Of course, this was never going to work, and as amusing as this story is, it's equally troubling that someone would believe this could work. Not only that, but there have been multiple instances of people being arrested for fake inspection stickers in recent months in the Capital Region.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again may work for some things in life, but this shouldn't be one of them.
