Can Ryan Fitzpatrick Take Jets to Playoffs? Jets Analyst Answers [AUDIO]
Journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has turned into the savior for the Jets, who are one game above .500. But is he good enough to get them to the post-season?
"If he would play like he played [against the Dolphins], I would say absolutely yes!" said Mike Westhoff, SNY and ESPN Radio Jets analyst, on with "Armen and Levack". "That’s the best game I’ve ever seen him play."
Fitzpatrick was 22 of 27 for 277 yards and four passing touchdowns, in a 38-20 route of the Dolphins.
"He managed things very well," said the former Jets special teams coach. "They protected him well, they did a nice job inside, there was virtually no pressure on him inside. Ndamukong Suh should write a check back to the Dolphins, to tell you the truth, the way he played. He got his butt kicked. So that helped."
"Fitzpatrick did a great job and Brandon Marshall was just incredible. Ryan threw the ball where they couldn’t make the play on it. They ran the ball better, they were better on first down, which they’ve been poor in the last month. Under those circumstances, he can [get them to the playoffs]."
