This UAlbany women's basketball team is very good.  They are off to a very impressive 5-0 start led by star player per usual Kayla Cooper.  Colleen Mullen is a very good coach and all she has done is win since coming to the University at Albany.  This teams feels and seems a little different so far.  They are gritty and toguh and got a huge win last week on the road at Syracuse.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

You don’t need a big sample size to see this year's UAlbany women’s basketball team is well underway to having a very special season. The Great Danes already have wins over Rhode Island from the Atlantic-10 Conference and a signature Power-4 win at Syracuse from the ACC. Head coach Colleen Mullen has recruited at a high level and the addition of guard Kaci Donovan who played at Penn State and Monmouth before transferring to UAlbany has been impressive. Graduate student Kayla Copper is the best player on the floor and UAlbany can put up big numbers offensively something they struggled to do last season. The America East Conference is only a one bid league, but the Great Danes have a great chance of getting to the NCAA Tournament.

The most important thing of course will be the America East Conference schedule.  Maine and Vermont have eliminated UAlbany the last two years and they are both good again.  I am very confident in this UAlbany women's team so far and am loving what I'm seeing.
