Canzeri Injured as Iowa Drops Big 10 Title Game
Iowa lost to Michigan State in the Big 10 Championship on Saturday night. The loss was costly for the Hawkeyes, as the game sent them to the Rose Bowl against Stanford rather than to the College Football Playoff.
But they also lost Troy High graduate and star running back Jordan Canzeri, who left early an ankle injury. You could see him grimacing as he hobbled off the field.
What's the status on his ankle?
So Canzeri has nearly a month to prepare, but is still uncertain for the Rose Bowl. Canzeri has battled injuries throughout his career. He missed two games earlier this season with an ankle injury and missed most of a third when he injured it against Northwestern.
Canzeri had two carries for 12 yards before the injury. It would have been interesting to see if a full dose of him could have knocked out the Spartans and sent Iowa into the championship picture.
