Capital Region Real Men Wear Pink Look for Three!
The Capital Region of New York is one of the most generous areas in the country and I'm involved with a group that knows that first hand. The Real Men Wear Pink of the Capital Region has raised the most amount of money out of any Real Men Wear Pink group in the United States for the past two years. You would think Manhattan, Las Angelas, Miami, somewhere would out-do that group in the middle of New York state but the answer is no. The Capital Region is #1.
Honestly, I am honored to be in the group and I'll hit me modest goal but it is the top of the batting order for our RMWP team that does a lot of the heavy lifting. Friday, CDTA CEO, Carm Basile kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the 2021 version of the Pink Bus with the RMWP logo on the side. Few things can remind you more of the RMWP campaign than a 40 foot pink bus. Lizzie Hunter, the Director of the Capital Region American Cancer Society did an awesome job mixing supporters and survivors to mark the day.
Friday's campaign kick-off was at Fairways of Halfmoon, where RMWP member and local State Farm Agent Erik Lachance gathered about a hundred golfers to tee off in PINK to raise funs for Real Men Wear Pink of the Capital Region. Mike O'Malley of DeCrescente Distributing, Anthony Marino of ACS, UAlbany Football and many others have events going on all October long to support this campaign. Real Men Wear Pink gives men a true role in the fight against breast cancer. These guys use the power of pink to raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer initiatives, including innovative research, patient services, and education around screenings and risk reduction. This group of men from the Capital Region are passionate about this campaign and that can be seen in their efforts! Good luck to everyone in reaching their goals and together we will put an end to breast cancer.
