Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson agreed to a monster 4-year, $53 million extension with the Tennessee Titans.  Is he worth it?

Chris Johnson signed a contract extension with the Tennessee Titans on Thursday.  The running back will receive $30 million in guaranteed money.  The extension will be tacked on to the final two years remaining on the East Carolina products' previous deal.

Is Chris Johnson worth it?  Absolutely.  In 2009, he became the sixth running back in NFL history to surpass 2,000 yards rushing in a single season.  He rushed for 1,364 yards last season and for 1,228 in his rookie season.  Johnson has also caught, at least, 43 passes in each of his three seasons.  He has scored 34 rushing touchdowns.

All of this production has come in spite of never having an elite quarterback.  Most would argue that he's barely had an average quarterback while playing for the Titans.  Vince Young and Kerry Collins weren't exactly ripping up the NFL and taking pressure off of the running game.  Chris Johnson is a stud running back and deserves to be paid like one.
