As the National Lacrosse League prepares for its March to May, the Albany FireWolves continue to march at the front of the pack.

Week 14 of the NLL season begins tonight, and entering play this weekend, the Capital Region's pro lacrosse representative sits in a tie for first place. Albany holds a record of 8-2, tied with the Toronto Rock atop the standings.

At 7-3, San Diego sits one game back, while Halifax remains 1.5 games behind the pace-setting FireWolves.

After winning their first six games of the season, Albany faced its first true adversity, losing two games in a row to drop to 6-2. After a well-placed bye week during the second weekend of February, however, the FireWolves rebounded.

Since that time, Albany has rattled off wins against Colorado and Buffalo, the two franchises that have met in the NLL Finals each of the last two seasons.

The team is once again rolling, and not a moment too soon, as they begin a stretch of three games in eight days tomorrow night. They play against the New York Riptide at MVP Arena on Saturday, following which they will host Vancouver on Friday, March 8th.

From there, it's a quick road trip west, for a Saturday night showdown with Rochester the day after.
