Colonie LL to Play on ESPN

A BIG day for Capital Region sports on Tuesday. To the bullet points:

1. With a 5-3 win over Pennsylvania and a Maryland loss, Colonie Little League has advanced to the elimination round at the Little League Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Bristol, Conn. The group will play again on Friday. That game will be broadcast on ESPN. Game time will be 11 a.m.

2. The South Troy Dodgers have advanced to the final four at the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, N.M. The Dodgers are now 2-1 in the tournament.

3. Former LaSalle standout J.P. Sportman was named Player of the Week in the New York Penn League after going 12-25 at the plate last week for the Vermont Lake Monsters.
