Cremo and Clareth Up For Freshman of the Year
It was a pair of great seasons for a pair of Capital Region college basketball teams. The UAlbany men's basketball team won 24 games and finished second in the America East Conference and made the College Basketball Invitational (CBI).
The Siena men made the semifinals of the MAAC Tournament and also advanced to the CBI. While both teams had valuable veteran contributions, they also received contributions from top freshman Joe Cremo (Albany) and Nico Clareth (Siena).
Cremo averaged double-figures for the Danes while earning 6th Man of the Year in the Conference. He was also Rookie of the Year. Clareth also averaged double-figures for the Saints while making the MAAC All-Rookie team.
Now both players are up for national recognition.
