The New York Jets have a lot of needs as the NFL draft looms.  Quarterback and linebacker are among those needs.

ESPN draft expert, Todd McShay's latest mock draft had an unlikely player falling to the Jets with the sixth overall pick.  That player is Nebraska's hybrid defensive weapon, Randy Gregory.

Gregory has been in the news recently for his failed drug test back at the NFL combine in which he tested positive for Marijuana.  Gregory has had a history using Marijuana before as he was nearly kicked off the Nebraska Cornhuskers team for failing drug tests in both January and April 2014.

Gregory's notorious use of Marijuana was brought up in each of his 29 interviews that he had with teams at the NFL combine; either brought up by the team or himself.

Would the Jets really consider drafting a player like Gregory?  They just might.

The Jets should pass on Gregory.  Given his history and the way the New York media swarms around juicy stories and headlines, he is one player that the Jets, in particular, should stay away from.  His talent is there, his dedication is there, but mentally, his decision making still lacks proper thought and a player like this can't be considered for a team like the Jets who are in the midst of rebuilding their organization with young talent.

Although Gregory may fall to the Jets, it all comes down to whether or not they think his talent is worth more than the potential media storm that may come with him.
