Guilderland's Mike Faragon faced the toughest test of his young professional career but he passed with flying colors on Thursday night.

The 23-year old scored a unanimous decision over Puerto Rican amateur champion Miguel Rodriguez in the eight-round main event at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

Rodriguez was Faragon's toughest opponent to date.  Rodriguez was 2000 Junior Olympics gold medalist and also represented Puerto Rico in the 2003-2004 Caribbean Games - where he was a bronze medalist and was a gold medalist in the 2003-2004 Pan American Games.

Faragon, the headliner at the "Spring Fever Fight Night at the Plaza", improved to 15-0 (6 TKO's) as a professional.  He will likely fight a few more times in the Capital Region - the Pugnacious Promotions annual July event in Saratoga is a definite option.

As I've said many times before, you're running out of time to see Faragon up close and personal.  He'll likely be fighting in Las Vegas or New Jersey someday soon - perhaps with a World Championship on the line.

Quite frankly, he's worth the price of admission - and we all should be proud.

Check out the highlights I shot from the Faragon fight last night.  I gave you the 2nd, 5th and 8th rounds.  These are the rounds with the most action.  Enjoy!
