Earlier today we spoke to Matt Callahan, the Assistant GM of the Tri-City ValleyCats, about what's coming in 2015.

Thus, it seems appropriate to inform Capital Region fans of what 2014 'Cat Derek Fisher did this weekend with the Lancaster Jethawks, the High-A affiliate of the Astros.

Playing in his first game with the team, Fisher went 4-6 with three home runs. Two of those were grand slams.

He also added a three-run double which helped give him 12 RBIs for the game. That's a Cal-League record.

The California League is known as a hitters' league, but I would say that is a pretty remarkable day. The Cal League is also home to Capital Region natives Branden Cogswell (Shen), JP Sportman (La Salle), and Mike Fish (Bethlehem).

Fisher, a first-round pick of the Astros in 2014, played his college ball at the University of Virginia. He hit .303 for the ValleyCats last year.
