The New York Giants played an ugly game for the first three quarters against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The game was overshadowed by the actions of Odell Beckham Jr. and Josh Norman.  The two got in multiple violent exchanges, crossing the line.  Beckham Jr. took a certain helmet-to-helmet cheap shot that really opened the floodgates to some dirty play.

Outside of that, the game was spectacular.  After giving up 28 unanswered points, the Giants stormed back in the 4th quarter for 28 unanswered points of their own.  Giants QB Eli Manning led the charge late in the 4th quarter as he threw three touchdown passes in the final 13 minutes.  RB Rashad Jennings finally broke out and did something no other Giants RB has done this season as he rushed for over 100 yards.

The Giants finally put together a fourth quarter, yet they still come up short as they left too much time remaining on the clock for Panthers QB Cam Newton to lead his team down the field to set up a game-winning FG by Graham Gano.

Other than the obvious incidents involving Beckham Jr., the Giants showed that they truly have bad luck this season.  This loss marks the 5th time this season that the Giants have had the lead or been tied with less than a minute to play, and lost; something that hasn't happened in the Super Bowl era.

The Giants now sit a game behind the Washington Redskins in the NFC East and their playoff hopes are riding on a win next week against the Minnesota Vikings.  Their playoff chances are slim, but it could happen.  With a Redskins win against the Eagles on Saturday night, they would win the division outright.  Should that happen, the Giants should start planning for an interesting off-season.
