The New York Giants have been one of the more active teams since the free-agent signing period opened up. Addressing many of their needs immediatley with the signings of (OL)Geoff Schwartz, (RB) Rashad Jennings and the latest signing (OL) J.D Walton

J.D Walton might be the biggest surprise signings of the period so far. Walton is a offensive lineman that started every game his first two seasons with the Denver Broncos (2010-2011).  Walton looked to be right on schedule in the 2012 season until he suffered a season ending ankle injury in week 4. In 2013, he was on the active roster for Denver for a month and then the  Washington Redskins for the season’s final two weeks, but did not play in a game.

The 6'3 305 Walton may end up being a cheap signing with tremendous upside, pending his health. The Giants are still expected to re-sign OL Kevin Boothe, and are still scouting for other offensive lineman.
