Goz’s Top 25 College Football Rankings (Week 5)
For the third consecutive season,I will be providing my own personal Top 25 poll each week during the college football season. My poll philosophy all season long will remain the same and that is by ranking the teams I believe are the best twenty-five best in the country following that given week’s games. Below are my rankings and comments about each week’ biggest shake-up and changes. Do you agree or disagree? Let me know below or on Twitter @TomGozz
- Clemson
- Alabama
- LSU
- Georgia
- Oklahoma
- Ohio State
- Auburn
- Wisconsin
- Florida
- Texas
- Notre Dame
- Oregon
- Iowa
- Washington
- Penn State
- Boise State
- California
- Utah
- Michigan
- UCF
- Texas A&M
- USC
- Virginia
- Michigan State
- SMU
Is Notre Dame too low?-This is a tough one for me. If Notre Dame won that game I would have ranked them as the #! team in the country this week. They kept it close with a very good Georgia team. The difficult part with the Irish is where should they be instead? Maybe flop them and Texas? The Longhorns are poised to potentially win the Big 12. I would not be shocked if Notre Dame creeps back into the top five this season.
UCF party over?- Likely yes. They blew the lead to Pittsburgh this weekend. Twenty seven straight wins (not counting bowl games) is an incredible accomplishment. There are some very good non Power 5 schools that will keep with UCF for that New Year's Six bowl game spot.
The Pac 12 is insane!- I have four Pac 12 teams in my top twenty two and I don't believe any of them are great. That conference is a mess in terms of figuring out who is the best. #Pac12AfterDark will be fun to watch all season.
