After an impressive first season, albeit half a season, in professional baseball, Ian Anderson is picking up right where he left off as he enters his first full season in the Atlanta Braves organization.

The former Shenendehowa star's first 2 starts with the Class A Rome Braves have produced 16 strikeouts in 9.2 IP and Anderson is 1-0 in those 2 starts. Even going back to last year, Anderson has been a strikeout machine while allowing very few runs. With a small sample size still, the 6-foot 3-inch right-hander appears to be way ahead of schedule. The 3rd overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft is quickly rising up the Braves' list of top prospects and drawing rave reviews from national talent scouts.

Anderson's third start this season, if the schedule holds, will gain plenty of attention. Next Wednesday, the 18-year old will face the Columbia Fireflies and its well-known outfielder, in all circles, Tim Tebow.
