Sad Outcome to the Case of This Missing Woman In New York State
On average, approximately 300 individuals are reported missing from each State in a given year. More than 600 individuals have been reported missing in New York State in 2023. According to Wise Voter, that places the Empire State at #6 of States with most people reported missing.
In this case a 31-year-old woman from Clinton County left home one day this month and never returned. Here's what we know.
On Sunday December 11th, based on information from a press release, a man reached out to authorities to report that his wife had left their home and hadn't returned.
The United States Custom and Border Protection (CBP) teamed up with the Clinton County Sheriff's office on this case of a missing 31-year-old female. On Monday December 12th those two agencies requested Forest Ranger assistance in an attempt to locate the woman.
On Wednesday December 13th, with little to go on, nine Forest Rangers assisted in coordinating linear search assignments. This technique helped authorities narrow their search to a portion of the Great Chazy River.
On Thursday December 14th, 13 Forest Rangers searched along side CBP Air and Marine Operations, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police Underwater Response Team, Clinton County Swiftwater Response Team, and the Champlain, Rouses Point and Mooers Volunteer fire departments.
At 11 am on December 14th, a Ranger air boat crew found the subject deceased upstream from the State Route 11 bridge. Rangers transported the subject to the Clinton County Coroner. New York State Police are continuing the investigation.
