Capital Region’s 1st Indoor Pickleball Club Moving Into Old Kmart
Pickleball is the sport that is sweeping the nation and now the Capital Region will get its first indoor club. It is almost ready to open in an old Kmart location.
Where Is This New Pickleball Club?
With the rise of a new yet fifty-year-old backyard sport, the Pickleball Club is inside the former Kmart building on Troy Schenectady road in Latham. It is called True Pickleball Club and will cater to those who love or want to learn the game.
It is taking up twenty thousand square feet next door to Vent Fitness. The two businesses should go hand-in-hand. It was just announced that a rock climbing gym called Hudson Boulder will move into the old Latham Kmart too.
What Will True Pickleball Club Offer?
There are six state-of-art courts, courtside cabanas, and other amenities. True Pickleball Club will offer an experience for all skill levels along with lessons for beginners. There will be tournaments and ladder leagues for those pickle ballers that have more experience.
The co-founder of True Pickleball Club, Mike Bibbo talked about the facility.
We’re gonna have cushioned courts. We’re gonna have plenty of space in between the fences. We got great ceiling height. But I think what’s really cool is we’re in a retail space. So, if somebody wants to play pickleball, and go next door to Vent Fitness, or go rock climbing; it’s an all-in-one. We love the game, and we’re building something that’s not out there. So, it’s really exciting.
True Pickleball Club is hoping to open in September.
