Upstate New York Brewery Debuts Ice Cream-Flavored Beer, Would You Try It?
When you think of iconic food-and-drink duos, what comes to mind?
For baseball fans, it's the pairing of a cold beer and a hot dog. For those who prefer the finer things in life, it's the perfect wine paired with a nice dinner.
Here's a pair that you may not have thought of before: beer and ice cream.
The unlikeliness of this duo did not stop two Upstate New York-based companies --- Perry's Ice Cream and Southern Tier Brewing Company --- from collaborating on a new ice cream-flavored beer.
Take a look at their creation:
As noted by WIVB, Orange Twist is an 8.6% alcohol by volume imperial ale, with notes of orange sherbet swirled with Perry’s signature vanilla ice cream flavor.
This isn't the first time that Perry's and STBC have worked together. Check out last year's creation:

You can try Orange Twist, in addition to all other Southern Tier brews, at their five taproom locations. They can be found in New York (Lakewood/Buffalo), Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh), North Carolina (Charlotte) and Ohio (Cleveland).
Orange Twist will also hit shelves at retailers in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio, according to WIVB.
Orange Twist has been rated 24 times on the website Untappd, and currently holds a 3.67/5 cumulative score. One user called the beer cough syrupy, but still awarded it 4.25 points out of a possible five.
Another user, meanwhile, said that this [beer] twisted and I shouted. They awarded the beer 1.75 points out of five in their rating.
If you get the chance, try it for yourself, and let us know what you think!
